This is the last manicure I did before having this blog :) I'm very proud of it, it is also the manicure in my page profile picture. This was the second time I used watercolours on my nails and I'm very proud of how it came out. I was super inspired :D

A new and optimistic beginning!/ Un inceput nou si optimist!

Cheers to a new beginning! :D I've cut my nails (more on that at the end of this post) and I don't feel sorry about it. I think long nails are special anyway but when your nails are short, you have to make them special! The manicure I'm currently wearing is inspired by two lovely nail art queens - Britney Tokyo and Lexi Martone (find her portfolio, blog and social media links on Lexi Martone).

Noroc pentru un inceput nou! :D Mi-am taiat unghiile (mai multe despre acest lucru la sfarsitul postarii) si nu-mi pare rau. Cred ca unghiile lungi sunt speciale oricum dar cand ai unghiile scurte, trebuie sa le faci speciale! Manichiura pe care o port in acest moment este inspirata de doua regine ale artei pe unghii - Britney Tokyo si Lexi Martone (gaseste-i portofoliul, blogul si link-urile catre retele sociale aici Lexi Martone).

I can't believe it's been a month since my last post :( Nothing happened, I was just too lazy to do my nails. Last week I got past the laziness and did an awesome design which I'm going to show you now.
Please excuse the cracked polish here and there, these photos were taken almost a week after doing my nails (I was out of town for a few days).

Nu pot sa cred ca a trecut o luna de la ultima mea postare :( Nu s-a intamplat nimic, am fost doar prea lenesa sa-mi fac unghiile. Saptamana trecuta am trecut peste lene si mi-am facut un design genial pe care o sa ti-l arat acum.
Te rog scuza oja crapata pe ici-colo, aceste poze au fost facute la aproape o saptamana dupa ce mi-am facut unghiile (am fost plecata din oras cateva zile).

Black, neon, marble 'n bling

Today I'm going to show you the manicure I'm currently wearing. It is a completely random design, I didn't think of it too much. Maybe that's why I'm not very fond of it. Or maybe because of the shape of my nails. I hate it, it makes them look like shovels! I'm going to soon file them in a pointed shape.

Azi o sa-ti arat manichiura pe care o port momentan. Este un design complet aiuristic, nu m-am gandit la el prea mult. Probabil de aceea nu sunt prea innebunita dupa el. Sau poate e din cauza formei unghiilor mele. O urasc, le face sa arate ca niste lopeti! O sa le pilesc in curand ascutit.

Like I already said in a dear Facebook group of mine, you know your nails are long when you can do a design on the free edge only! :D I love this kind of designs, they are usually done on false nails so that the natural nail growth won't be very visible.

Summery flowery design :D

This week I was SUPER inspired!! And I am super delighted with the result :D This manicure screams summer holiday, I love it!

In aceasta saptamana am fost SUPER inspirata!! Si sunt super incantata de rezultat :D Aceasta manichiura tipa vacanta de vara, o ador!

Colourful flowers - tropical forest inspired (one of my older manicures)/ Flori colorate - inspirate de padurile tropicale(una din manichiurile mele mai vechi)

This is a manicure I did a year ago :P I wasn't inspired at all and decided to paint my nails white and apply a sheer gold on top (it isn't very noticeable). But after a day or so I couldn't stand looking at my simple nails anymore and then BAM! it hit me :)) I was so inspired I did this wonderful one stroke design on my left hand. But then I got lazy and didn't want to do it on my right hand too so I came up with this psychedelic floral design hehe :D
I don't recommend going for simpler designs on your dominant hand. The more you paint, the better you will become at it ;)

Aceasta este o manichiura pe care mi-am facut-o acum un an :P Nu eram inspirata deloc asa ca am decis sa-mi pictez unghiile cu alb peste care am aplicat un auriu transparent (nu prea se observa). Dar dupa vreo zi, nu mai suportam sa-mi vad unghiile simple si atunci BAM! m-a lovit :)) Am fost asa inspirata ca mi-am facut design-ul acesta genial one stroke pe mana stanga. Dar dupa aceea m-am lenevit si n-am vrut sa mi-l fac si pe mana dreapta asa ca am scos acest design floral psihedelic hehe :D
Nu recomand sa-ti faci design-uri mai simple pe mana dominanta. Cu cat pictezi mai mult, cu atat o sa iasa mai bine ;)

Romantic french manicure (suitable for bridesmaids)/ Manichiura french romantica (potrivita pentru domnisoare de onoare)

I am so excited to be showing you this manicure!!! This is a world premiere!!! My first white, almost classic french manicure! As I was telling you the other day, the manicure I did on Ana's nails (Skirtbike nails :D) inspired me so much that I decided to try a white french tip myself :D I also wanted to add some one stroke flowers and this is how it all came out:

This post comes a bit late but hope it's ok :) I can't remember the last time I wore black and white nails. I am surely going to do it more often.
This week I went for a matte manicure featuring black roses and hearts which I made using watercolours.

Summer flowers and geometric shapes/ Flori de vara si forme geometrice

The nail art design I'm currently wearing is super colourful :D I love the way it came out but I must say I can't wait for my nails to grow again, I was a fool to cut them :(

Colourful flower on a raspberry background/ Floare colorata pe un fond zmeuriu

This week's manicure is a remake of one of my first nail art designs. It is colourful and wearable, perfect for spring. Also, very quickly and easily done.
On a raspberry blue iridescent base I painted a simple flower using acrylic paints and I added a gold rhinestone in the middle. I can't even remember the last time I wore the same design on all of my nails but I really like the way this one looks.

Manichiura din aceasta saptamana este o reeditare a unuia dintre primele mele design-uri. Este colorata si purtabila, perfecta pentru primavara. De asemenea, se face foarte usor si repede.
Pe o baza de culoarea zmeurei si cu irizatii albastre am pictat o floare simpla folosind culoare acrilica si am adaugat o pietricica aurie in mijloc. Nici nu-mi mai amintesc ultima data cand am purtat acelasi design pe toate unghiile dar chiar imi place cum arata acesta.

Most elegant black french manicure/ Cea mai eleganta manichiura french neagra

Today I want to show you a simple but very elegant manicure. I don't usually wear such simple designs but this time I really wanted a clean and perfect french.


Astazi vreau sa-ti arat o manichiura simpla dar foarte eleganta. De obicei nu port design-uri asa simple dar de aceasta data chiar am vrut un french curat si perfect.

Abstract black & silver design featuring flowers, studs and rhinestones/ Design abstract negru-argintiu cu flori, tinte si pietricele

This week's manicure is a bit on the complicated side. I was sooo tired of simple designs. I must admit I enjoy wearing complex designs more. I've never worn a classic white tip french manicure in my life!
Anyway, I recently got a slightly holographic polish which I was dying to try and I ended up using it as a base for this nail art. I felt like painting some one stroke flowers although I knew it wasn't going to be easy on my right hand.
 Besides the new polish I also got some brushes for the one stroke technique including a very wide one for backgrounds which I used in this design.
Very soon there will be a new category which will contain posts on materials and nail art techniques ^^
 About this manicure, I'm really pleased with the way it came out. The right hand is not so bad after all but there is much more experience to be gained before I will be able to make it look like the left one :( I would have usually avoided doing one stroke stuff on my right hand but I recently read some advice concerning nail art on Kayla's blog (Nails By Kayla Shevonne FAQ) which made me decide to do it on both hands from now on. Of course I knew this helps you get better at painting your dominant hand but I was just too lazy :P

Manichiura din aceasta saptamana este putin spre partea complicata. Ma saturasem asaaa rau de design-uri simple. Trebuie sa recunosc ca imi place mai mult sa port modele complexe. Nu am purtat in viata mea o manichiura french simpla cu varful alb!
In orice caz, mi-am luat recent o oja slab holografica pe care voiam s-o incerc neaparat si am ajuns sa o folosesc ca baza pentru acest model. Aveam chef sa-mi pictez niste flori prin tehnica one stroke desi stiam ca nu o sa fie usor pe mana dreapta.
In afara de oja cea noua mi-am luat de asemenea niste pensule pentru aceasta tehnica inclusiv una foarte lata pentru fundaluri pe care care am si folosit-o in acest design.
Foarte curand o sa existe o noua categorie care o sa contina postari despre materiale si tehnici de arta pe unghii ^^
In legatura cu aceasta manichiura, sunt chiar multumita de cum a iesit. Mana dreapta nu este chiar asa rea dar mai trebuie multa experienta pana sa pot sa o fac la fel ca pe cea stanga :( De obicei as fi evitat sa pictez chestii prin one stroke pe mana dreapta dar am citit recent cateva sfaturi in legatura cu arta pe unghii pe blogul Kaylei (Nails By Kayla Shevonne FAQ) care m-au facut sa ma decid sa le fac pe ambele maini de acum inainte. Bineinteles, stiam ca acest lucru te ajuta sa-ti pictezi mai frumos mana dominanta dar eram prea lenesa :P

My Valentine's Day manicure!!!/ Manichiura mea de Sfantul Valentin!!!

Valentine's day is comiiing and although in my country this is a foreign holiday (our traditional "Valentine's Day" is called "Dragobete" and it is celebrated on the 24th of February) I see it as a great opportunity to wear a cute manicure inspired by love <3
I love personalising my Valentine's day manicure and my sweetheart likes this!
This year I wanted something really special and I was lucky enough to discover this lady whose work is super inspiring - Nails By Regina. My design had to have bright colours, glitter, my sweetheart's initial and some cute painted stuff. I also wanted an old-school style painted diamond but by the time I actually did my manicure I forgot about it. And this is the first time I ever wrote "sex" on my nails but I really felt like it is an important part of a relationship and it had to be mentioned ^^

Sfantul Valentin se apropieee si desi este o sarbatoare straina eu o vad ca pe o ocazie minunata de a purta o manichiura draguta inspirata de iubire <3
Ador sa-mi personalizez manichiura de Sfantul Valentin si iubitului meu ii place acest lucru!
In acest an am vrut ceva special si am fost norocoasa sa descopar aceasta doamna a carei munca ma inspira mult - Nails By Regina. Design-ul meu trebuia sa aiba culori stralucitoare, glitter, initiala iubitului meu si cateva chestii dragute pictate. Am vrut de asemenea un diamant pictat in stil old-school  dar pana cand am apucat sa-mi fac manichiura am uitat de el. Si aceasta este prima data cand mi-am scris "sex" pe unghii dar chiar am simtit ca este o parte importanta a unei relatii si trebuia mentionat ^^
Stiu ca iti plac pozele asa ca am pus o tona!

Powerpuff Girls!

This week's manicure is a cartoonish one. I wanted a cute Powerpuff Girls design since longtime ago but I was always too lazy to do it. 
This was the first time I painted cartoon characters and I won't lie to you. This was a tough one and of course, it took a lot of time. I didn't make a tutorial for it because it would have had 20+ photos and I found that a bit too much. In a future category there will be a "How to paint cartoon characters" post so make sure to subscribe if you're interested.
About this design - Professor Utonium came out the best (if we don't mind the fact that my hand slipped at his right eye) followed by Fuzzy Lumpkins (surprising, considering I painted him with my left hand) and in the opposite corner Bubbles is dangerously close to a fail and Miss Bellum is a total fail - she is fat and the only thing that makes her look like Miss Bellum is the fact that you don't see her face :(
As a little tip, the most important things when painting cartoon characters are observing the guide image thoroughly, doing the same face shape (as much as possible) and keeping the same proportions. Those three things are going to help you paint characters that really look like the original ones so that people won't have to wonder if that is "x", they will know it for sure ;) Maybe you will even get questions like "Oh, where did you get those cool stickers?" xD


Manichiura de aceasta saptamana este una "animata". Voiam de mult timp un design cu Powerpuff Girls dar eram tot timpul prea lenesa sa mi-l fac.
Aceasta a fost prima data cand am pictat personaje de desene animate si nu o sa te mint. A fost dificil si evident, mi-a luat o gramada de timp. Nu am facut un tutorial pentru ca ar fi avut mai mult de 20 de poze si mi s-a parut cam mult. Intr-o categorie viitoare va fi un post despre cum sa pictezi personaje de desene animate asa ca te poti abona daca esti interesata.
Despre acest design - profesorul Utonium a iesit cel mai bine (daca excludem faptul ca mi-a scapat mana la ochiul lui drept) urmat de Fuzzy Lumpkins (surprinzator, avand in vedere ca l-am facut cu mana stanga) si in coltul opus Bubbles este periculos de aproape de un esec iar Miss Bellum e un esec total - e grasa si singurul lucru care o face sa arate ca Miss Bellum este faptul ca nu i se vede fata :(
Ca un mic sfat, cele mai importante lucruri cand pictezi personaje de desene animate sunt sa observi foarte bine imaginea dupa care te ghidezi, sa faci aceeasi forma a fetei (cat de mult posibil) si sa pastrezi aceleasi proportii. Aceste trei lucruri te vor ajuta sa pictezi personaje care chiar seamana cu originalele astfel incat nu va trebui ca oamenii sa se intrebe daca acela e "x", vor sti sigur ;) Poate chiar vei primi intrebari de genul "Oh, de unde ti-ai luat abtibildurile astea misto?" xD

Radioactive waste/ Deseu radioactiv

Here we've got an original manicure inspired by the neon green, gooey and radioactive stuff that appears in cartoons. I wore this in the summertime because I really wanted something black, I was tired of colourful and shiny designs. It only uses nail polish.

Aici avem o manichiura originala inspirata de chestia verde neon, vascoasa si radioactiva care apare prin desene animate. Am purtat-o vara pentru ca voiam ceva negru, ma saturasem de modele colorate si stralucitoare. Nu foloseste decat oja.

Random lines and spirals/ Linii si spirale aiuristice

This abstract manicure looks complicated but was in fact quite easy to do. It isn't inspired by anything - I just got the design out of my head :) Then I had the great idea with the little pearls in complementary colours. On the right hand the lines came out a bit shaky but it isn't very noticeable.

Aceasta manichiura abstracta arata complicat dar a fost de fapt destul de usor de facut. Nu este inspirata de nimic - am scos modelul din cap :) Dupa aia am avut ideea geniala cu perlutele in culori complementare.
Pe mana dreapta liniile au iesit cam tremurande dar nu prea se observa.
